Note

  • Use for worming programs for the control of the most common worm species found in chickens, including tapeworms. Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum, Capillaria spp., Amidostomum Anseris, Trichostrongylus tenuis and Raillietina sp.
  • Flubendazole's efficacy against all life stages of the worm (adult, larvae and eggs), means the beneficial effect on the flock is long-lasting. There is no need to discard eggs during or after treatment periods
  • Signs of infestation can be difficult to identify. Rate of lay, egg size, yolk colour and egg shell quality can all be affected by worm burdens

Treatment Periods

  • Treatment periods can be covered by 2 approaches
  • A routine schedule: 2-4 times per year or Faecal floatation (via diagnostic labs or vet clinics) to detect the severity of the burden on the bird and if deworming is required

Infection Pressure | Frequency

  • High | 3-4 weeks
  • Medium | 6-8 weeks
  • Low | 8-10 weeks

Infection Pressure is affected by stocking density and environmental contamination. Environmental hygiene management is essential for optimum worm control 1.2%.

Dosage

  • Feed for 7 consecutive days
  • Use this feed within the best before date of 6 months of manufacture
  • Remove all other feed and ensure birds have access to feed ad lib. to enable consumption of the required dose

Withholding Periods

  • Meat: Remove medicated feed 7 days before slaughter for human consumption.
  • Eggs: Nil

Contraindications

The use of Flubendazole is contraindicated in pigeons and parrots.
