FeedRite Pretrainer Mix

FeedRite PreTrainer Mix is a high energy feed incorporating both micronised and steam flaked cereal grains and legumes to maximise digestibility and palatability. FeedRite PreTrainer Mix is an ideal feed for 2-year-old racehorses and high-performance sport horses in pre-training. When combined with extra grain it is an excellent base feed for racing horses or horses undertaking moderate to strenuous training.

Feeding Guide:

FeedRite PreTrainer Mix should be normally be fed to racehorses and sport horses at the following rates (assumes a mature bodyweight of approximately 500kg):

Young Horses (2 Y.O.) in Pre-Training to Early Training

  • FeedRite Pre-Trainer 3.5 kg to 4 kg
  • Lucerne Chaff or Hay 3 kg
  • Good Quality Roughage ad lib (e.g. cereal chaff, oaten hay, pasture or meadow hay)

Young Horses (2 Y.O.) in Full Training

  • FeedRite Pre-Trainer 4.5 kg
  • Lucerne Chaff or Hay 3 kg
  • Extra Grain (e.g. oats) 0.5 kg
  • Good Quality Roughage ad lib (e.g. cereal chaff, oaten hay, pasture or meadow hay)

Older Horses (3 Y.O. plus) in Full Training

  • FeedRite Pre-Trainer 5 kg
  • Lucerne Chaff or Hay 3 kg
  • Extra Grain (e.g. oats) 1 kg
  • Good Quality Roughage ad lib (e.g. cereal chaff, oaten hay, pasture or meadow hay)

Note:

  • Introduce FeedRite PreTrainer Mix gradually over a one to two-week period.
  • Adjust feed allowance according to body condition and workload.
  • Ensure your horse receives adequate amounts of roughage (an amount of dry roughage equivalents to at least 1% or more of the horse's bodyweight should be fed daily).
  • Make sure your horse has access to fresh clean water.
  • Do not supplement your horse's diet with extra trace minerals, such as selenium, unless instructed to do so by a veterinarian or equine nutritionist.

Storage

Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.

Do Not Feed to Sheep

This product contains supplemental copper at levels that may be toxic to sheep.
